Standardization Services

Since its founding in 1993, McIntyre Associates has represented numerous clients in obtaining listings for new preservative and fire retardant systems within the American Wood Protection Association (AWPA), the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials-Evaluation Services (IAPMO-ES) or the International Code Council-Evaluation Services (ICC-ES) frameworks.

McIntyre Associates has been an active participant to obtain listings for 6 of the last 7 systems added to the AWPA Book of Standards. Within the ICC-ES, McIntyre Associates has obtained listings or critical documents for 14 systems that signify a wide range of preservative technologies. Approximately 80% of the lumber treated in the US in 2012 was processed using listings cooperatively developed by McIntyre Associates.

In addition to writing the base-line document for listing preservative systems in the ICC-ES (AC326), McIntyre Associates has cooperatively assisted in 26 of the 39 evaluation service product and document listings since 2000.
